We would like to invite you to be a part of the 1st Annual Fenton Firefighters Charity 5K and 10K Run/Walk held in the City of Fenton, Michigan, benefitting the charitable work of the Fenton Firefighters Charities who support various needs in the community. The course takes place within the beautiful city limits of Fenton with slight rolling terrain, historic homes and tree lined streets. Register below!

5k-10k (Run/Walk)

Presented By: Fenton Firefighter’s Charities

Starting Time: All races will begin at 10:00AM

Location: All races begin and end at the Fenton Fire Station located at 205 E. Caroline St. Fenton, MI

Course: 5k single loop and 10k run/walkers make 2 loops. Route is 100% paved.

Will begin and end inside the Fenton Fire Station. Click here for the route.

Registration: Register by mail, drop off at the fire station, or on race day at the fire station. Registration opens at 8AM the day of the run and you will pick up your shirt (if applicable) and timing chip at that time.

Entry Fee: $20.00

$23.00 with Shirt

Facilities: Bathrooms will be available at the Fenton Fire Station. The fire station will be open before and after race for touring and viewing of trucks and equipment. Children welcome.

Taste in Fenton

Immediately Following the Run/Walk

The 10th Annual "Taste in Fenton" event, sponsored by the Fenton Regional Chamber of Commerce, The City of Fenton and the Downtown Development Authority will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2010 from 12 pm - 8 pm in downtown Fenton. Presenting sponsor again this year is The State Bank.

This event showcases local restaurants from the Fenton region and Genesee County and provides guests with a chance to sample delicious foods and experience a "total culinary experience" in downtown Fenton. Attendees will also have the opportunity to listen to live music from three bands.

This year the event will be held rain or shine on the grounds behind the Fenton Community & Cultural Center in downtown Fenton. In the event of bad weather, the event will be moved inside the Community Center. Also held the same weekend is the Fenton Kiwanis "Art at the Center" 2 day art festival on the grounds in front of the Fenton Community & Cultural Center (weather permitting).

Additions to the event this year include a Kids Zone with related activities for children up to 12 years of age. The Fenton Fire department will be hosting a foot race and Tour de Lacs charity bike ride will also be held the same day.

"This event gives area residents an opportunity to taste foods from numerous restaurants in our area in one venue", says Shelly Day, President of the Fenton Regional Chamber of Commerce. "This event draws over 4,000 people and we expect to have a great a turnout this year, especially in light of gas prices and people looking for events to attend closer to home", she added.

Tickets are available for purchase in advance for only $10 (10 Taste Coupons) below or at the Chamber office at 114 N. Leroy Street, Fenton, MI, The State Bank locations in Fenton, and VG's Food Centers in Fenton. Ticket prices the day of the event are $12 (10 Taste Coupons).

With the participation of many community organizations, charitable events, combined with great food, fine hospitality and entertainment while being at an exceptional location, makes participating in this event a full day of fun, socializing, exercise and great food and drinks.
